Reiki is a Japanese technique that helps with reduction in stress, promoting the relaxation response in the body. This helps to promote calm and wellness. When we are in a relaxed state, we have a higher immune response, keeping us healthier and disease free. It has become a popular therapeutic tool used in hospitals today! Reiki translates to “Universal Life Energy” and is not a religious practice. Reiki is helpful for care givers needing a break or as a recharge or for people in transition. It’s also a wonderful tool for promoting restful sleep. Reiki and Chakra balancing can be combined or offered as separate services.
Chakra translates to wheel. Chakras are energy points in the body that can be open, blocked or closed. Chakras that are blocked or closed disrupt the energy flow in your energetic and physical body leading to low moods and disease. Chakra balancing uses energy, reiki, and sound to clear blockages, open or balance chakras. Chakra balancing can be combined with reiki. After death or at time of death I’m available to close your loved one’s chakras. Reiki and Chakra balancing can be combined or offered as separate services.
My Education & Table
My training was completed at the Maryland Center for Reiki Training. My table supports individuals weighing up to 400 lbs and a maximum height of 6’11”. If your body doesn’t fit in this range, sessions can be performed in a chair. Services can be offered to patients in hospital beds.
What to Expect
Before and after each session, the table is disinfected. During a Reiki session, clients keep clothes on (unlike a massage) and have the option of no touch or light touch sessions. Reiki can be performed without physical contact or with light touch. Reiki is not massage. Soft music and lighting helps to create a calm atmosphere. Clients who opt for longer sessions with chakra balancing may request the use of crystals to be placed on chakra points, this however is optional.
Free Reiki for the Actively Dying
I offer free Reiki at end-of-life. I charge a small $5 travel fee to come to your location. During the death process, Reiki can provide comfort. If your loved one has requested reiki to help ease their transition, please call me (443) 789-1648. You don’t need to wait until the actively dying phase begins, I will be on call as the time gets closer. It’s also never to late to reach out—I will arrive as soon as I can. If your loved one is in a medical facility, check with your nurse first about visitor policy and Reiki before reaching out to me.
